From March 3 - 6th, 2011 Paris will host the Festival du Livre Culinaire or The Paris Cookbook Fair, the largest cookbook and wine book meeting in the world which draws authors, publishers and foodies from all continents.
The event will be held at Le 104, the new Artistic Center located at 5 rue Curial in the 19th arrondissement .This year Alairn Dutournier, chef at Carré des Feuillants on rue Castilglione in Paris www.carredesfeuillants.fr will be President of the Paris Cookbook Fair. www.cookbookfair.com
In addition to the Fair, The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards which were founded in 1995 by Edouard Cointreau, of the Cointreau empire, will honour the best food and wine books. This is a way of helping readers find the best out of the 26 000 food and wine books produced every year. In order to fully represent the diversity of food and drink publishing around the world, the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards have 50 categories for cookbooks ranging from Best Chef, Easy Recipes, French Cuisine, Cheese, Vegetarian Chocolate to Childrena and Local Cuisine. There are 18 categories on books related to wines and spirits inlcuding Best Wine Book, Best Wine Publisher, Wine Guides and Cooking with Wine. All food and wine books published between November 15, 2009 and November 15, 2010 qualified for entry.
