If you think Provence is worth a detour definately add Corsica to your wish list.
The island has much to offer. Incredible beaches and pristine water, oak and chestnut forest with wild pigs roaming freely on public roads and the occasional cow or two doing the same. UNESCO world heritage sites and unbeliveable scuba diving.
Before I make a list of the top 10 things to do in Corsica, all would be travellers should know about this great restaurant in Ile Rousse. Pierre Martinetti, who has spent the better part of his career working for the Four Seasons in both France and the USA, has just re-opened a fabulous restaurant called L'Abri des Flots. It was Pierre's grandfather who first started the restaurant. After several years on the Continent and abroad Pierre, who was born in Bastia, has decided to continue the family business. Chef Eric Leroy, who spent years working for Relais Chateaux, is now preparing local in season produce. Fresh fish galore. Not to be missed. Reservations: 09 63 47 36 44
