This UNESCO world heritage site in Orange will be holding Gladiator Games on Saturday September 10, 2011 from noon until 4:30 pm in the Antique Theatre. Unlike the TV show on NBC these Gladiators will be wearing traditional armor like those worn during the Roman Empire.
Built early in the 1st Century BC the Theatre has been the setting for various forms of entertainment. At first the Theatre was used by the Romans as a means of promoting their culture with their colonies and more recently the Theatre has been the venue for the Chorégies which is a music festival hosting operas and symphonies alike.
