Allez L'OM!

For all those soccer fans there is an exposition marking the 110 anniversary of l’Olympique de Marseille. 11 artists are showing 110 photos of the most important moments in the Club’s history.  The photo exhibit "OM 110 years - the History of the Olympique of Marseilles in 110 pictures"  will be on from February 20 - May 9, 2010 at the Palais des Arts. It has been organised by the Fondation Regards de Provence www.regards-de-provence.org

True fans can also sign up for a guided tour of the Velodrome, the soccer stadium which was designed by architects Pollack and Ploquin in 1935. The Velodrome was inaugurated in 1937 but it has been renovated a few times since. In view of the 1998 World Cup architect Jean-Pierre Buffi proposed some modifications which increased the capacity of the stadium to 60 000 people. In 2003 further refurbishment projects took place. Most recently City Hall has approved a project which will further modernise the stadium by 2014. Contact the Tourisme office in order to book a tour www.resamarseille.com
